The 11th MMA Championships were held over the weekend. In Gliwice there were, as many as 608 fights, in which a total of 763 fighters took part.
This past Saturday, October 5, the 11th MMA Championships prepared by the MMA Poland Association took place in Gliwice. The event attracted more than 760 amateur fighters competing in mixed martial arts.
During the 11th MMA Championships, fighters from all over the country confronted each other in five cages in the junior, senior and cadet categories. 763 people registered for the competition, including 66 ladies. 337 people signed up to fight in the cadet categories, that is, youngsters from 12 to 18 years old. Juniors (18-21 years of age) registered 176, and seniors, that is, people over 21 years of age, signed up 250.
The oldest athlete competing in the championships was 47 years old. After final verification related to weight, required examinations and documents, 660 male and female athletes representing 155 clubs were allowed to compete. Throughout the day, 608 fights took place in five cages. This was the sixth tournament in a row, with more than half a thousand fighters competing, and the first with the highest number of competitors in the Association’s history.
For the fourth time in its history, the MMA Poland Association came with its event to Gliwice. With each successive edition in this city, the number of participants in the competition grows. In October 2021, about 150 people signed up for the Gliwice tournament, a year later more than 400 fighters signed up, and in 2023 more than 730 young fighters from all over Poland signed up for the event. Now the record has been broken.
