Alex Pereira only has his eye on fights with big names, the UFC welterweight division champion has named three potential rivals.
Alex Pereira will defend his UFC welterweight championship belt this Saturday. At the UFC 313 gala, the capital Brazilian will face Magomed Ankalaev. The duel at the top of the division up to 93 kilograms promises to be excellent.
During the media day before Saturday’s gala, journalists asked Alex Pereira about who he would like to face in the future. Poatan first stated that he hadn’t thought about it yet, however, after a while he mentioned only big names. Alex Pereira hopes that in his next fight his opponent will be someone from the trio: Dricus Du Plessis, Jon Jones or Oleksandr Usyk.
– I don’t run my thoughts too far ahead. I haven’t even thought about it yet. But it looks like there might be a fight waiting for me in the future, either against Dricus Du Plessis, Jon Jones, or even against Oleksandr Usyk in boxing. These are fights that have a chance to happen. It’s not up to me. It depends on the UFC. Whatever the UFC wants to put together, I will do it.
Alex Pereira also took a bit of time to assess the skills of Magomed Ankalaev, whom he will meet in the octagon on Saturday, March 8 at UFC 313 in Las Vegas.
– He is a complete fighter, not just a wrestler. He is comprehensively gifted. But I am also prepared. I trained in wrestling and grappling even before I joined the UFC, since I came to Connecticut to Glover Teixeira. I came there to become an MMA fighter and I’m ready for it.
