Alexandre Pantoja submitted Kai Asakura in the UFC 310 evening fight [VIDEO]

Alexandre Pantoja put on an excellent performance, submitting Kai Asakura in the UFC 310 fight of the evening and defending his flyweight championship belt.

Alexandre Pantoja and Kai Asakura faced off in the fight of the evening at UFC 310 in Las Vegas. The duel was contracted for five rounds, and the UFC flyweight championship belt was at stake. The Brazilian defended the title in a clash with the former Rizin champion.

Alexandre Pantoja was the favorite in the fight against the Japanese. The Brazilian had the advantage of experience on his side, however, Asakura had several victories over very strong opponents on his record. Alexandre Pantoja, however, had never lost a fight before time.

Kai Asakura fired a flying knee which Pantoja immediately took advantage of, wanting to move the fight to the mat. The Brazilian hit his opponent, and when Asakura got up it was Alexandre who unleashed a strong knee. Kai managed to get up under the net, and when it seemed that he would break up the clinch and be in a good position, the Brazilian found the moment to move the fight to the mat again. However, Asakura managed to get out from under his rival and we are back to the stand-up. Good lowkicks from the Japanese fighter. Asakura hits a strong knee to the champion’s body. Pantoja responds with an accurate straight. A nice left from Kai’s side. An accurate high kick by Asakura, to which Pantoja responds with a strong middle kick. Pantoja hits a short distance.

A good short straight by Pantoja, to which Asakura wanted to respond with punches under the net, but the champion spun impressively, wanting to get behind the challenger’s back. Alexandre Pantoja takes the fight to the mat, clips a triangle onto the torso of the challenger and works to obtain a submission. The champion got his way, Alexandre Pantoja set up a tight choke from behind and Kai Asakura floated away. The referee had to stop the fight.
