ANKOS MMA has issued a statement confirming the detention of coach Andrzej Koscielski. The club stands firmly behind the coach and believes he will win the fight in court.

A week ago, news cooled that coach Andrzej Koscielski had been detained and arrested by the CBP. Now a comprehensive statement has appeared online on ANKOS MMA‘s official social media profiles.

Below is the full content of the ANKOS MMA club’s statement on the arrest and detention of trainer Andrzej Koscielski.

Due to reports appearing in the media, ANKOS MMA CLUB, would like to inform you that there has indeed been an arrest and temporary detention of our Coach Andrzej Koscielski. Unfortunately, it appears that Andrzej has now been implicated by individuals he did not actually know. The case relates to events in November 2002 and was thoroughly investigated more than 20 years ago in the direction of a fatal fight.

The District Court and the District Court evaluating the findings of the Prosecutor’s Office in 2003 unequivocally pronounced that with the death of the Armenian in the BLUE NOTE music club our Coach had nothing to do. Subsequently, in 2003, the Prosecutor’s Office legally discontinued criminal proceedings in the case.

As currently reported in the media, our coach has been slandered by a Crown witness nicknamed Monster. However, Andrzej Koscielski never had any close relationship with these individuals – not even a collegial one. What’s more, this person was not an eyewitness to the tragic events at the Blue Note club in 2002, and is said to know the whole case from “city” gossip.

Thus, we perceive the whole situation as a reprimand against our coach, who remains a person with no criminal record, is a person of impeccable reputation, an outstanding figure of Polish and world MMA, who has represented Poland on the international stage for years.

We are with you Andrew, and we know that this next battle – perhaps the toughest in your life – you will win.

Lawyer Francesco Goldoni, in an interview with Gazeta Wyborcza, also conveyed that coach Andrzej Koscielski had given his consent to publish his full details and image.

– He also agrees to publish his full details and image, because he is no criminal and has never shied away from fully explaining the case of 22 years ago.
