Arman Tsarukyan has spoken critically about Mateusz Gamrot. According to the top fighter of the lightweight division, the Pole does not believe in his stand-up skills.

Arman Tsarukyan recorded a victory over Dan Hooker this past weekend. Long not seen in action, Ahalkalakets put on a spectacular performance in the UFC octagon and totally dominated the New Zealander by first smashing him in the stand-up and then submitting him on the first floor.

Arman Tsarukyan considers himself the only worthy contender for a championship bout with Ilia Topuria. The Armenian-born fighter claims that other fighters like Paddy Pimblett and Justin Gaethje do not deserve to fight for the belt.

After his win over Hooker, Tsarukyan gave an interview to Daniel Cormier. The former double champion teased Arman a bit by mentioning his loss to Mateusz Gamrot. That was enough to get Tsarukyan fired up.

Arman Tsarukyan critical of Gamrota

Arman Tsarukyan in an interview with Daniel Cormier about Mateusz Gamrot.

– First of all: I did not lose that fight. It was a bad decision. Matthew Gamrot lost to Oliveira, to Beneil Dariush, to Hooker. I beat them all. I beat Gamrot, too.

Arman Tsarukyan analyzed the Pole’s fighting style on the fly. The contender for the UFC lightweight division belt pointed out Gamrot’s weaknesses.

– Gamrot doesn’t believe in his standup, jumping to his feet from a long distance. Then he doesn’t have good control on the first floor. He can knock people over, but downstairs he can’t control them. That’s his problem. I am his opposite. I wasn’t a bit worried about not being able to keep Hooker on the mat.

Mateusz Gamrot is resting after his loss to Charles Oliveira. The Pole has so far not reacted to Tsarukyan’s unfavorable statement.
