Arman Tsarukyan vs Dan Hooker main event of UFC Qatar

Arman Tsarukyan and Dan Hooker will face each other in the main event of the UFC in Qatar. The duel could determine a contender for the lightweight division’s championship belt.

Arman Tsarukyan and Dan Hooker will meet on November 22 in the main event of the UFC organization’s first gala in Qatar. Contracted for five rounds, the duel between top lightweight fighters should provide the answer to who will be Ilia Topuria‘s next opponent.

Arman Tsarukyan has taken a very long break from competing. Ahalkalakets scored his last fight in the UFC octagon in April 2024, which is already eighteen months ago. Tsarukyan was scheduled to face Islam Makhachev at the beginning of the year, however, he suffered an alleged back injury during fight weeek, which many fans saw as a cover-up for failing to make weight.

Although the Armenian-born fighter has fought grappling duels, there is nothing to compare them to performances in the world’s most prestigious MMA organization. After all, wins over Zaynukov, Pitbull or Henderson don’t count towards a professional wrestler’s record.

Dan Hooker also fought his last duel in 2024. However, this took place in August. The New Zealander defeated Mateusz Gamrot after happily scraping a non-unanimous decision from the judges. Hooker was scheduled to return to competition in March and fight an eliminator against Justin Gaethje. Unfortunately, Dan’s hand injury was renewed and he had to undergo surgery again.

After all, the current situation in the lightweight division has led matchmakers to believe that this is the perfect time to put Tsarukyan and Hooker together. Now all that needs to be done is to keep our fingers crossed that neither of them will suffer an injury during their preparations.
