Artur Szpilka commented on Michal Materla, the former boxing world title challenger admitted that his friend is living training for his farewell fight in KSW.
Artur Szpilka and Michal Materla have been friends for many years. The popular Szpilka visited the former KSW champion last week and the fighters trained together in Szczecin at the Berserkers Team club. After their joint training sessions, Szpilka admitted that Michal Materla tormented him a lot with his ground-and-pound rounds.
Artur Szpilka was a guest of Artur Mazur on the program Klatka po Klatka. At one point, the topic of Michal Materla, who struggled last year with massive health problems, came up. KSW sports director Wojslaw Rysiewski said that talks are underway about the Berserker’s farewell fight in the federation.
Artur Szpilka addressed this by claiming that Michal Materla is alive with preparations for his latest fight and even expected it to happen earlier than KSW plans.
– And great. He’s living it. He’s already looking forward to it. I was so honest with him and he thought there would be this fight sooner. He’s a crazy guy.
Artur Szpilka will return to the KSW round cage on April 26 at the KSW 105 gala in Gliwice. The former world boxing title challenger will face Errol Zimmerman an experienced kickboxer.
