Augusto Sakai and Marcin Wojcik will face each other at KSW 113, which will take place on December 20 in Lodz. For the Pole it will be the first fight in the heavyweight division in many years.
The XTB KSW 113 gala in Lodz will feature a clash in the royal weight class, in which Augusto Sakai (17-6-1), a former contender for the belt and today’s number three ranked fighter, will face Marcin Wojcik (21-10), a former light heavyweight title challenger and the number one ranked fighter in the category. The confrontation will take place on December 20 at Atlas Arena.
Augusto Sakai has two fights under his belt in KSW. He last competed in April and won against Szymon Bajor. In his debut for KSW, he faced Phil De Fries for the championship belt, but was not up to the challenge. The Brazilian has been competing in professional MMA since 2011, during which time he has fought 24 fights and won seventeen of them. Eleven times he finished his rivals before time, sending them to the boards, and six times he won already in the first round. Sakai has fought for the Bellator and UFC organizations, where he defeated former heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski, among others.
Marcin Wojcik fought twelve fights in the round cage. Twice he fought for the light heavyweight championship belt. The last time he competed was in July and sent Ibragim Khuzhigaev, the former champion of this category, to the boards. The popular “Giant” is known for giving strong fights. In the round cage, he won one bonus each for best submission and best knockout, and only one of his bouts made it to the judges’ decision. Wojcik is an experienced fighter who has been competing in professional MMA since 2007, and has fought 31 fights, 21 of which he won. Nineteen times he triumphed before time, twelve times he sent his rivals to the boards, and seven times he won by submission. To his credit, he has won championship belts of the FEN and Gladiator Arena organizations.
