Austin Vanderford a former contender for the Bellator organization’s belt has jumped at the last minute to the schedule for Saturday’s UFC Seattle gala.

Austin Vanderford had been linked to the Bellator organization since 2019 and even had a chance to win the middleweight championship belt. The American jumped today to the fight card schedule of the UFC gala in Seattle, which has been completely overtaken by injuries.

Vanderford is from Portland, which is only 171 miles from Seattle. For conditions in the U.S. where people are used to traveling considerably longer distances, this is not a great distance, and Vanderford will probably be able to count on support from fans and family in Seattle.

The opportunity to sign with the best MMA league in the world came unexpectedly, however, it is worth remembering that the fighter who wears the nickname Gentleman has a winning record from Dana White’s Contender Series in 2018.

Austin Vanderford will face Nikolay Veretennikov, who was originally scheduled to fight Billy Ray Goff. It is known that the fight will take place at the contractual limit of up to 175 pounds, which the fighters will have to fill at the weigh-in.
