Big changes ahead of Iwo Baraniewski’s next UFC appearance. The undefeated Pole lost his original opponent a few weeks before the UFC Vegas 118 gala and received a new opponent.
The popular “Rudy” has made a capital entry into the world’s largest MMA organization. Baraniewski won a contract thanks to an impressive victory in Dana White’s Contender Series, where he sensationally knocked out a heavily favored opponent. He later made a successful debut in the UFC octagon, fighting a wild clash with Ibo Aslan. In his next appearance, however, at a gala in London, he blissfully dealt with Austen Lane.
Junior Tafa new rival of Pole
At the UFC Vegas 118 gala, which will take place on the night of June 6-7, Iwo Baraniewski was originally scheduled to face Billy Elekana. The American would undoubtedly be the toughest test of the Pole’s career to date.
A few weeks before the event, however, the situation changed sharply. Elekana dropped out of the bout, and the UFC quickly found a replacement for “Rudy.” Junior Tafa became Baraniewski’s new opponent.
The Australian representative has a record of 7-5, and under the UFC banner holds a balance of 3-5. He fought his last bout in early May, when he impressively smashed Kevin Christian. Prior to that, however, Tafa was in a lot of trouble, as he twice lost by submission. Interestingly, on January 31 he was finished just by Billy Elekana, whom Baraniewski was originally scheduled to face.
The change of opponent certainly complicates the Pole’s preparations, although many fans may consider Tafa the more media-savvy name. After all, the Australian is known for his very offensive fighting style and powerful punches, which may herald another spectacular battle involving the undefeated “Rudy.”
