Dawid Peplowski head coach of the Octopus Lodz club who has Adrian Bartosinski and Pawel Pawlak under his wing has issued a comprehensive statement.
In recent days, quite unexpectedly, a lot of fuss has been made about the person of Dawid Peplowski. The coach of the Octopus club criticized the amount of bonuses in KSW, and stressed that his charges fighting at the federation’s galas will always fight with the idea of winning. Peplowski pointed out that in KSW they have to fight to win, even if it is not glamorous. If Octopus fighters fought in the UFC, then the strategy could be changed.
These words did not please both the director and KSW owners. First Wojslaw Rysiewski spoke on the matter, suggesting that the coach should let his guard down and simply not give interviews during or just after KSW gala, but later, in the cold.
Martin Lewandowski reacted nervously to Peplowski’s words, openly admitting that Peplowski had missed the last meeting organized by KSW. The head of the federation pointed out that the Octopus trainer’s words sounded as if an invitee to a birthday party insulted the host. Lewandowski concluded by pointing out that if it’s such a problem for Peplowski he may not come to the galas, and KSW may fire his fighter.
David Peplowski issued a statement
Dawid Peplowski, the coach of Adrian Bartosinski and Pawel Pawlak, decided to issue a relevant statement. He published it on his Instagram. Peplowski responded extensively to the director and owners of KSW.
– Howdy Bziki. Just for the record, this is the first and last report from my side on all this drama on our emem internet. I know you would like to hear my point of view on the whole situation, but after thinking it all over, my hands are firmly tied. It’s not the first time there have been some words as if directed at my players, that they too can face consequences for what I say and for what I do. And in fact it may be so. There were also words in the direction of the Octopus club and the extensive cooperation with the KSW Federation. As much as I am ready to bear the consequences for what I say myself and bear the consequences myself, I would not want such consequences to be borne by people very close to me and people very important to me, namely my fighters.
– In fact, in earlier conversations that also took place with KSW representatives, this topic of these consequences of my fighters and the fact that fighters may lose out on what I say was also brought up. I wouldn’t want that to happen, so the best thing that will happen is that I will simply step aside a little bit in this KSW media space and not participate in any media actions, promotions, interviews and all the rest. I think it will work out best for my fighters and it will work out for them, and their welfare is the most important thing for me.
– If I have to not tell the truth, I’d rather not say anything, so I guess it’s better this way. I have never offended anyone in my statements. If I said anything, I always based it on my coaching aspirations and some sports motivations of my players, but apparently this is not accepted everywhere. I will always be of the opinion that I want to go as high as possible with each of my players, wherever possible, and beat the best in the world. I know that this is not possible, but I do my best to make it come true as much as possible, at least in some percentage. As I mentioned before, the topic is already closed for me.
