Bartosz Szewczyk will not end up in the UFC organization for the time being. Diyar Nurgozhay hit the Pole with an impressive high kick in a contract fight in the Contender Series program.
Bartosz Szewczyk faced a chance to win a contract in the UFC organization last night. The Pole fought in the main bout of the new episode of the Contender Series program. Created by Dana White, the series of smaller galas offers a chance to lesser-known fighters who, by winning fights, can gain the approval of the UFC boss and receive a contract with the world’s top MMA league.
Szewczyk faced Diyar Nurgozhay and unfortunately had no luck in this skirmish. The undefeated Kazakh brought out an impressive high kick, after which the Pole fell off his feet. Nurgozhay reached Szewczyk, who was lying on the boards, and delivered several ground and pound punches, after which the referee stopped the fight.
All in all, for the moment, the contract with the UFC organization is far away and Szewczyk will probably have to rebuild himself on the Polish MMA market. Of course, there are also chances that, despite the defeat, some foreign organization will be interested in the 27-year-old fighter from Poland and offer him a contract for several fights.
