Belal Muhammad has responded to Conor McGregor’s statements. The welterweight champion claims that the Irishman has not fought for so long that fans forget about him.
Conor McGregor conveyed in a post on the X platform that he would love to have a fight with Belal Muhammad. The Irishman believes in an easy victory over the fighter from Chicago and claims that Muhammad is the worst champion in UFC history.
– I would love to put a left hook to Belal’s head and win the triple crown. I would do it easily. And fast! The fact that this loser is now UFC champion without a single knockout to his credit is tragic. He is the most miserable, zero revenue generating UFC fighter in modern history.
It didn’t take long for Belal Muhammad to respond. The welterweight champion addressed Conor McGregor’s words during an interview with MMAJunkie reporters.
– I don’t think he will ever fight again. I think he’s at that stage in his life now where he’s starting to realize that people are forgetting about him. He loves the attention so much that whenever something happens in the UFC, he wants to steal the headlines.
– I announce my new fight, and he tries to say: ‘I’ll fight this guy,’ because he knows people will debate it. Even after other big fights. Pay attention to what Conor will do after Max Holloway’s fight with Ilia Topuria. He will surely sell some silly talk.
Muhammad believes that McGregor is commenting on the current situation in one division or another of the UFC wanting to court the fans. Belal unequivocally stated that Conor should go to rehab.
– He knows what he’s doing. He knows that people will comment, ‘Maybe McGregor will come back in 2027; maybe McGregor will come back in 2028.’ I think first of all he needs to go to rehab. When he gets clean and sober, he can return to training and get back on the mat.
