Beneil Dariush has quashed rumors of a fight with Mauricio Ruffy. The American also mentioned the name of another Brazilian he is expected to face in June.
Through absolutely no fault of his own, Beneil Dariush has remained inactive since late 2023. The American of Iranian descent was scheduled to enter the octagon in January when it became apparent shortly after the weigh-in that his opponent would jump into the main event of the UFC 311 gala.
Unfortunately, UFC matchmakers decided not to find a replacement and Dariush was paid for a fight he did not fight. The Kings MMA fighter, who is slowly approaching his 36th birthday, gave an interview to Submission Radio.
Beneil Dariush has dismissed rumors of an alleged clash with the much hyped Mauricio Ruffy.
– I haven’t heard anything about a fight with Ruffy. I was told that I will fight in June and it seems that it will be a duel with Renato Moicano. Nothing has been confirmed yet, of course, but this is the fight I heard about from the manager.
According to Dariush, the UFC organization has decided to return to the juxtaposition with Renato Moicano. The Brazilian lost at the aforementioned UFC 311 gala to Islam Makhachev and has also not fought since. The light heavyweight bout is of great interest to Polish fans, as it is in this division that Mateusz Gamrot and Mateusz Rêbecki fight, who unfortunately have been left out of all rumors and talks about potential matchups lately.
