Borys Mańkowski surprised fans with his statement, it turns out that the former champion may not return to the KSW organization’s cage.

Borys Mankowski has been a KSW federation champion in the past. The Red Dragon fighter enjoyed his greatest triumphs between 2014 and 2016. Media-wise, the biggest fight of Borys’ career is undoubtedly the clash with Mamed Khalidov in the fight of the evening at KSW Colosseum. Mankowski lost then on points, however, many fans believed that it was the Tasmanian Devil who was better than Khalidov.

After losing his welterweight division belt to Roberto Soldic, Boris resurrected his career with a series of victories in the KSW round cage. This led to Mańkowski facing a chance to claim the lightweight championship belt in a bout with Marian Ziolkowski in January 2022. Golden Boy proved superior, however, and Mankowski later still lost clashes with Daniel Torres and Valeriu Mircea and has not returned to the cage since.

In a few days it will be exactly two years since Borys Mankowski’s last fight. Michal Tuszynski of the FanSport portal went to meet the former KSW champion to ask him about his future plans and a possible fight.

– You know what, I’ll tell you honestly, I have no idea. I’m not hiding the fact that they contributed to it, I won’t repeat any more…. simply contributed to it injuries, of which there were, one, two, three. It was as if I fell into such a wave of well, and I do not like to wait for unknown things. Also, this period when all this was catching me, I tried to open my wings and start doing various things that have always interested me. Well, and I can’t hide the fact that it gives me mega fun and joy, so I don’t know. I’ll tell you that this year I’m generally going to try something a little different, and if it works out for me, I don’t know if I won’t go a thousand percent into it.

– I was seventeen years old when I had my first fight already professional. Whatever the case, some years passed in that octagon where I was all the time in that tunnel. I was limiting myself all the time because I just knew that you have to be in the tunnel to reach your highest level you can reach. I don’t hide the fact that life pulls me a lot in different directions and if I can open myself up to it, and more and more I do, I just start to feel fun, happiness and joy and I think that’s the most important thing in all of this.

Boris Mankowski admitted that MMA fights have brought him enough money so that he doesn’t have to live like average people.

– The struggles have given me that I can afford. You know, I don’t have to live a normal life, I can live such a life that when I’m 80 years old I’ll sit in an armchair, light the fireplace and say to myself: “Whoa, but you took off Boris”. In general, this is how I want to live in me it seems that this year will be a turning point. How will the plans I have, which I have already set a little bit of fire to gently burn, come to fruition. If it ignites with full fire it will be really awesome interesting. And I will also say this applies to martial arts all the time as well.

Asked if it could be that we won’t see him in KSW anymore, Borys Mankowski replied.

– That may be the case. I don’t know what will happen next. Otherwise, if the plan I have in my head comes out, I’ll have to be so involved in it that it will take me five years to do it.
