Brandon Royval suffered an injury and had to withdraw from the evening’s fight against Manel Kape at UFC Vegas 103.
Unfortunately, a bout that was very important for the UFC‘s ranking system in the flyweight category will not take place. Top-ranked Brandon Royval has suffered an injury that prevents him from training, the fighter did not disclose the nature of the injury but admitted that he is unable to train normally at the moment.
Brandon Royval has therefore withdrawn from his clash with Manel Kape, which was scheduled to take place on March 1 at UFC Vegas 103. The American has recorded five victories in his last six starts and lost only to champion Alexandre Pantoja. Royval was hoping that a win against Kape would open the door for him to fight the Brazilian again.
Manel Kape, on the other hand, can speak of tremendous bad luck, as since he signed a contract with the UFC in 2020 this is the tenth bout involving him to be canceled. Of course, fights have been canceled for a variety of reasons, however, this clearly shows the magnitude of the non-fighting problem facing the Portuguese Starboy.
The UFC organization has not yet announced whether someone will replace Royval, or whether the juxtaposition will be postponed. Matchmakers will probably have to look for a new fight of the evening at UFC Vegas 103.
