Matchmakers of the UFC organization have decided to put together a rematch fight in the middleweight category. Brendan Allen and Anthony Hernandez will face each other at the Fight Night gala, which will take place on February 22. At this point, the location of the event is not yet confirmed, although there are rumors that it will take place in Seattle.
Brendan Allen and Anthony Hernandez first faced each other in January 2018 at the LFA gala in Lake Charles. Hernandez was on top then, defeating Allen by unanimous decision of the judges and winning the vacant LFA belt in the up to 84 kilograms division.
Both fighters, until recently, boasted capital series of victories. Anthony Hernandez sustained his streak and currently has a series of six wins in a row. Brendan Allen unfortunately lost in his last appearance to Nassourdin Imavov which interrupted a perfect series of seven wins in a row.
Brendan Allen is ranked ninth in the UFC middleweight rankings while Anthony Hernandez is listed at thirteenth. Therefore, it is safe to say that at stake in the rematch is not only victory, but also a place in the top ten of the UFC rankings.
