Brendan Schaub suggested that the ESPN station deliberately caused disruptions and interruptions in the broadcast of the UFC 313 gala.

During Saturday’s UFC 313 gala, media representatives, fans, fighters and coaches complained that although they had purchased access to the broadcast they could not watch some of the fights and sometimes even the entire event. The ESPN station, of course, quickly apologized for the situation by issuing an announcement that there were technical problems that prevented access to the purchased content.

An interesting opinion on the subject was expressed by Brendan Schaub, a former fighter in the UFC organization, who stated in his podcast that ESPN intentionally disrupted the broadcast of UFC 313. The whole thing is supposed to be about the ongoing negotiations for a new contract between ESPN and the UFC.

– Listen to this whole situation with ESPN+ and the PPV not working. They are currently in negotiations to buy the rights to broadcast UFC galas for the next few years. If you don’t think this was intentional then you have something wrong with your head.

– ESPN doesn’t really care about the UFC, it doesn’t give a damn about them. On the other hand, in my opinion, it was such a show from the station’s side who is in charge. I’ve never had a problem with UFC galas being broadcast on ESPN, and suddenly something like this happened during negotiations. Half the world had problems with the broadcast hanging or not being able to access it. Just now? That’s strange.

Brendan Schaub continued the statement by suggesting that this may be about the financial expectations of the UFC organization, which is demanding a far larger sum from ESPN than it has so far.

– Someone at ESPN said “Seriously, you want to negotiate hard? Well, then see what your PPV results look like when you don’t have our support.”
