Carlos Ulberg strongly appreciated Jan Blachowicz before his fight at the UFC gala in London. The New Zealander admitted that the experienced Pole is a role model.

Jan Blachowicz and Carlos Ulberg will meet in the second fight of the evening at the UFC gala in London. The duel between the welterweight fighters will have a great impact on the ranking of the division. The Pole is listed in seventh place, while the fighter from New Zealand is ranked sixth. The winner will be able to think about a championship fight, while the loser will probably fall towards the end of the top ten and work on rebuilding.

Carlos Ulberg gave a lengthy interview to Combat TV. In the course of the conversation, Black Jag spoke about Jan Blachowicz. The New Zealander drew attention to the Pole’s great experience.

– You always have to expect something unexpected. I know he will have a plan. He’s very out of the box and very experienced, which goes well with who he is. He’s a bit older now, so he knows how to fight younger guys. He’s been in the octagon a lot of times, a lot more than I have, Although I did a lot of street fighting, so that’s where I gained experience.

Carlos Ulberg has openly admitted that he respects Jan Blachowicz and considers him a great role model. It seems that the fighter, who has a string of seven wins in a row, considers the clash with Janek as the biggest challenge of his career so far.

– I respect the guy. I consider him a great role model and a great person. I followed him and I still follow him. I follow his career. He is doing well. I’m excited about fighting together and just the opportunity to high-five each other.

Carlos Ulberg also referred to the gameplan for the duel with the Pole. According to the New Zealander, the preparatory camp may be key.

– I think that to some extent he has a prepared plan for each opponent, for each fight. As he gets older, he knows what elements to resort to. My coaches know to some extent his style, strategies or habits. So we also benefit from the detailed analysis they did beforehand.

– His approach may have its benefits, but we can do a very good preparatory camp in response, where everything can go well and then everything will already depend on the form of the day and preparation. Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face, as good old Mark Hunt says. So now I just have to take care of training.
