Carlos Ulberg recorded the biggest win of his career over the weekend this allowed the fighter to move up quite a bit in the UFC’s welterweight rankings.
Carlos Ulberg faced Volkan Oezdemir this past weekend at the UFC gala in Macau. The New Zealander did a great job against his more experienced opponent and won the fight after a unanimous decision by the judges.
Ulberg recorded the most important victory of his entire career to date by claiming a valuable scalp in a clash with a former contender for the belt of the up to 93 kilograms division. Of course, it was to be expected that after the win Black Jag would record a rise in the rankings.
Carlos Ulberg has moved from tenth to seventh in the UFC’s welterweight rankings. The excellent kickboxer thus jumped over Nikita Krylov, Johnny Walker and, of course, Volkan Oezdemir, whom he defeated.
Carlos now occupies a position that quietly allows him to challenge one of the fighters occupying a place in the top five rankings of the best MMA league in the world. We remind you that the fourth place in this weight category is occupied by Jan Blachowicz, however, the Pole makes it clear that he wants to fight fight fighters who are ahead of him in the rankings. It is possible, however, that developments in the division will lead to a fight between Ulberg and Blachowicz in the near future.
