Ibragim Chuzhigaev did not have an opponent at KSW 105, whether there was an idea of a rematch with Tomasz Narkun, or maybe ranking options were in play. KSW director comments.

KSW sports director Wojslaw Rysiewski was a guest of Artur Mazur on the Klatka po Klatka program. One of the topics of the very long conversation was Rafal Haratyka ‘s injury and the fact that Ibragim Chuzhigaev was left without an opponent at KSW 105.

Asked about the idea of bringing Chuzhigaev vs. Narkun 2 to the set, KSW’s sporting director denied it. Wojslaw Rysiewski conveyed that in this case it would be Berserker who would have to express his desire to return to the KSW round cage.

– There was no such idea. As long as we don’t get a clear signal that Tomek chooses the path of returning to KSW, and not the rather unclear path of appearances overseas for me, then there is no topic.

So what about the second championship fight at KSW 105? It turns out that in the end, after checking all options that made sense, the decision was made that Ibragim Chuzhigaev will not fight at the Gliwice gala.

– We checked all the options that made sense ranking-wise, and unfortunately none were possible, hence the decision. We agreed that somehow this week we will determine Rafal’s current state of health and the prospect of his return, and based on that we will decide whether we are moving in that direction right away, or Ibragim will fight another fight in the meantime, waiting for Rafal to be healthy. This is a bit too big a fight to forcefully look for some replacement and give Ibragim someone from the foreign market.

Ultimately, Wojslaw Rysiewski conveyed that he did not want to forcefully pull a foreign fighter who is not known to KSW fans. The federation’s sporting director assured that if it is confirmed that Harikat’s break will be long then Chuzhigaev can be matched with another opponent at one of the next KSW galas. For the time being, Ibragim Chuzhigaev has decided to return to Turkey where he will train in his club.

This also means that KSW 105 will feature one championship fight instead of the two announced bouts. In addition, the fight card will be reduced from 10 to 9 fights.
