Trainer Miroslaw Okninski claims that Arkadiusz Wrzosek is overmatched in KSW. The experienced trainer appreciated the stand-up skills and pointed out the fighter’s shortcomings.
Arkadiusz Wrzosek failed to defeat Phil de Fries at KSW 107 in June, an unsuccessful attempt for the Uniq Fight Club fighter to win the KSW heavyweight championship belt. After that bout, Wrzosek first treated an injury and then began preparations for his return and fight at KSW 114 in Radom.
Miroslaw Okninski, in an interview with FanSport, stated that Arek Wrzosek is overmatched. The coach also referred to Alex Pereira and his fights in the welterweight division.
– I believe that Wrzosek performed poorly against De Fries, but this is his fault, because he does little ju-jitsu and does little wrestling. Although I must admit that as much as he would do ju-jitsu and wrestling, it is very hard to match De Fries in this plane.
– Wrzosek is overrated for me in KSW. I think he is generally a very good fighter, but he has little skill in ju-jitsu and wrestling. I think he is based on the fact that he is a very good striker, because he is a very good striker. Such Alex Pereira fights up to 93 kilograms, there he is big and strong, so even if this ground fighter is inferior, or wrestling, he still makes up for it with this strength. And when Wrzosek weighs 110, then comes De Fries, who weighs 130 and brings him down to 120, and then makes a pie out of him.
Arkadiusz Wrzosek will return to the KSW round cage at the KSW 114 gala in Radom. The excellent kickboxer will face the experienced Szymon Bajor in the event’s co-main event.
