Colby Covington announced his return and expressed his desire to exact revenge for his recent defeats in the UFC octagon.
Colby Covington fought his last fight in December. Chaos appeared in the evening fight of the UFC gala in Tampa, however, it did not go the American’s way. Colby had to acknowledge the superiority of Joaquin Buckley, and shortly after the event he admitted that he did not train much because he was helping to promote Donald Trump‘s presidential campaign.
Currently, Covington seems to have a completely different mindset about competing, and his desire to prove himself is evident. The former world title challenger in the welterweight division has announced his comeback and is blazing a trail for revenge.
– News of the next fight will probably come eventually. You can delay us, but you can’t stop us. Colby Covington will be back to take revenge. You know what, you need the right fight for that. Now there are a lot of shady guys in the welterweight division. We need a high-level fight.
Colby Covington has stressed that he needs a suitable opponent and won’t accept just any juxtaposition. However, the American will have to make concessions, as he is ranked ninth in the UFC and is slowly moving dangerously close to the moment when the role of gatekeeper of the up to 77 kilograms division will fall to him.
