Colby Covington has expressed his desire to fight Jack Della Maddalena. The American appreciated the Australian’s skills and progress.
Long unseen and unheard Colby Covington became active after Donald Trump‘s successful campaign. Covington said he was focused on helping the new U.S. president and put aside thoughts of his own career and a return to the UFC octagon for a while.
Colby Covington was a guest on Submission Radio, where he spoke about a potential opponent. Chaos was very quick to mention the name of the opponent he wants to face.
– Jack Della Maddalena, we talked to the coaches about fighting this fighter. I think this duel makes a lot of sense. He gave a good fight in my hometown of Miami, he made a name for himself here. He is undefeated in the UFC, he is fearless and hungry for success. He is an exciting fighter.
– From my perspective, this is a fight that can make the fans curious. I think it would be a duel at a very high level. It would be a clash of two top fighters that will determine the contender for the championship belt.
In the long run, Colby Covington would love to face Shavkat Rakhmonov. The American believes that the Kazakh has not passed the real test in the octagon.
– I think he would not be able to withstand my pressure. He deals poorly with fighters who fight from the position of a manicurist. Rakhmonov has never fought anyone serious. Even his fight with Geoff Neal was not one-sided. He fought typical gatekeepers from the tip of the top ten rankings however he never faced a fighter of such a high level as me.
