Colby Covington is thinking seriously about leaving the UFC, the American revealed plans for his future career and his main goal is to move into pro-wrestling and compete in the WWE.
Colby Covington fought his last professional bout in December. Chaos then lost before time to Joaquin Buckley. The fight was stopped prematurely by a doctor due to a deep cut on Covington’s eyelid.
The American published a special video on his youtube channel. Colby Covington answered questions from fans. Asked about his future plans and a possible move to the WWE, Covington made no secret of his intentions.
– I think it will happen within two years. I really want to start working on my wrestling in the ring and on giving the fans a lot of excitement. Maybe I will go to Orlando to the WWE training center. I really want to polish my skills for wrestling and I hope to go there in the next two years.
Colby Covington for the time being is still focused on his UFC career. The American has indicated that he would ideally like to return to the octagon in the first half of 2025.
– I want to return to the octagon in the next three months. I want to do a 12-week training camp. For my last fight I didn’t have a preparation camp, in fact I didn’t train. I showed up and accepted the fight because I am a man dedicated to the UFC, I love the company. On the other hand, now I want to work a full preparation period so as to show the fans the best version of Colby. I am confident that after a full camp I can beat any fighter.
Asked if he had any specific rival in mind, Colby Covington conveyed that he is ready for any challenge and hopes to face an opponent with a well-known name.
– As soon as the UFC finds me a suitable opponent I will start training camp immediately. I am ready for a big, well-known name, someone who in tandem with me will provide the UFC with the right interest and profit.
