Conor McGregor admitted that success has broken him, the former two-time UFC champion gave an extremely candid statement about his career.

Conor McGregor was the biggest star of the UFC organization a few years ago. The Irish-born fighter reached for world titles in two weight categories, and his excellent athletic performance was also followed by huge fan interest.

The outspoken and confident McGregor is famous for his cutting tongue, which translated into huge PPV sales during galas with his participation. Conor has participated in six of the UFC organization’s highest box office record-breaking events in terms of pay-per-view sales.

Unfortunately, in the case of this athlete, success came at a great price. Evidently he got carried away by fame and couldn’t handle it. Events, fights, arrests, morality scandals and court cases made most fans stop believing that they would see the former champion again in the UFC octagon.

Conor McGregor admitted that success has broken him

Conor McGregor earned an unusually frank and lengthy statement during the conference that promoted the BKFC gala. It was with a statement about this organization that the Irishman began his speech.

– I’ve been a promoter and owner of BKFC for a while, but in general I’ve been doing these things for a long time. I grew up in the Fertitta school run by Dana White, I was their student. I will say this much: we have to give really, really, really great respect to fighters who promote fights. The promotion itself is easy, and so is the fight. People don’t realize that.

Conor McGregor admitted that success has broken him. Notorious stressed that he was repeatedly outgrown by the fame and position he was in.

– Players build careers, but no one really cares (no one is interested in them). You remain unnoticed, no one asks you questions, you go in, you have fun, there are no stresses from the outside world – perfect. However, when your sports results increase, you have to add promotional activities, two things at once really suck a lot of energy. It almost broke me. To be honest, I was broken by great success, global success. I was repeatedly overwhelmed by it.

Conor McGregor is already 37 years old and fought his last bout more than four years ago. Despite boisterous announcements about his desire to appear at the UFC’s White House gala, it is doubtful that there will be a return of the former double champion just yet.
