Conor McGregor addressed the defeat of Michael Chandler at UFC 309 after a few days, the former champion commented on the outcome of the American’s fight with Charles Oliveira.
Michael Chandler lost his fight against Charles Oliveira at UFC 309 in New York. Oliveira prevailed from the beginning of the clash, he was faster, more accurate and definitely worked better in both stand-up and ground-and-pound.
Nevertheless, Chandler had his chances and could have recorded a comeback at the end of the fight. Ultimately he failed to do so, however, getting up on his feet and impressive slams in the final seconds of the clash made both fans and other fighters appreciate the former Bellator champion’s performance.
A few days after the gala, the conduct and outcome of the Oliveira vs Chandler fight was addressed by Conor McGregor. The Irishman commented on it with the words.
– Fire Michael Chandler! Just kidding, it was a good fight. Crazy little guy this Michael, I like him.
The former two-time UFC champion appreciated Chandler’s attitude and did not criticize him online. Both fighters had previously mentioned that they would be looking to make the clash, which was scheduled to take place in June, happen again. The matter may be thwarted for them by Dana White, who stated that McGregor will not return to the octagon until the second half of 2025 at the earliest.
