– People wanted to hear my opinion on the matter, I needed time. I know I made mistakes. Six years ago, I should never have responded to her advances. I should have ended the party. I should never cheat on the woman I love most in the world. This is all on my shoulders.
– No matter how deeply I regret it, everything that happened that night was with her consent, and all the witnesses present said so when sworn before the court. I have instructed my lawyers to file an appeal.
– I cannot go back to the past however I intend to move forward. I am very grateful to my family, friends and fans around the world who have stayed by my side. That’s it, nothing more. I’m going back to the mat because I have a fight waiting for me.
At this point it is unclear when McGregor is expected to return to the UFC octagon. The Irishman would probably like to fight as soon as possible, however, Dana White announced that the former champion will not return until the second half of 2025 at the earliest.
