Conor McGregor issued a special statement after the court verdict was announced, the Irishman admits that he has made mistakes in his life however in this case he considers himself innocent.

Last week, the court announced the verdict in a case in which Conor McGregor was sued by a woman. The court found the 36-year-old Irishman guilty in a case that took place in 2018. McGregor must pay the victim $250,000.

Leaving the court, Conor McGregor remained silent and made no statement to reporters. Now the Irishman has finally addressed the topic. The former two-time UFC champion posted a statement on the X platform. Conor McGregor admitted that he has ordered his lawyers to appeal the verdict.

People wanted to hear my opinion on the matter, I needed time. I know I made mistakes. Six years ago, I should never have responded to her advances. I should have ended the party. I should never cheat on the woman I love most in the world. This is all on my shoulders.

No matter how deeply I regret it, everything that happened that night was with her consent, and all the witnesses present said so when sworn before the court. I have instructed my lawyers to file an appeal.

I cannot go back to the past however I intend to move forward. I am very grateful to my family, friends and fans around the world who have stayed by my side. That’s it, nothing more. I’m going back to the mat because I have a fight waiting for me.

At this point it is unclear when McGregor is expected to return to the UFC octagon. The Irishman would probably like to fight as soon as possible, however, Dana White announced that the former champion will not return until the second half of 2025 at the earliest.
