Damian Janikowski will fight at the KSW 106 gala in Lyon. The Pole will face Laid Zerhouni, a strong French representative with Algerian roots, on May 10.
The second Polish-French bout of the XTB KSW 106 gala in Lyon will be a clash of top middleweight fighters, who are known for their impressive fighting style. In this confrontation, former belt contender and currently number three ranked KSW fighter Damian Janikowski (10-7) will face number seven ranked Laïd Zerhouni (14-9 1NC). The rivalry will be decided on May 10 at the LDLC Arena, where the real Cup of Nations will then take place.
Damian Janikowski is a strong guarantor of excitement and great fights in the cage. He has won two bonuses for best knockouts and as many as four for best fights of the evening. The former middleweight title contender will enter the round cage for the seventeenth time at the gala in France.
Janikowski last competed last November, but had to acknowledge the superiority of Piotr Kuberski in the cage. The former Olympic medalist in wrestling has been fighting in MMA since 2017 and has ten wins to his credit, six of which he won before time – he knocked out his rivals five times and won once by submission.
Laïd Zerhouni is going like a storm through his successive fights. In KSW he won two bonuses for best knockout, one for submission and one for best bout of the evening. All of his fights in the round cage have ended already in the first round. The Algerian-born fighter holds the championship belt of the French Hexagone MMA organization.
In his career he fought 24 fights, fourteen of which he won. Thirteen times he finished his rivals before time, and ten times he did it already in the first round. In the round cage, he last competed in December last year and instantly knocked out Alain Van De Merckt. Zerhouni is an all-around fighter, who has submitted his opponents eight times and sent them to the boards five times.
