Dan Hooker has dropped out of UFC 313 due to a hand injury, so an opportunity has been created for Mateusz Gamrot, as Justin Gaethje has been left without an opponent.

Dan Hooker was scheduled to face Justin Gaethje in the second fight of the evening at UFC 313 in Las Vegas. The duel was contracted for five rounds, and fans were rubbing their hands with the thought of a battle between two fighters who specialize in standup. Unfortunately, this duel will definitely not happen at UFC 313.

Australian journalist Benny P delivered the unpleasant news on the X platform.

– Unfortunate news, but according to my sources Dan Hooker has dropped out of his fight with Justin Gaethje at the UFC 313 gala. At this point it is not known whether Justin Gaethje will get a new opponent, or if the fight with Hooker will be rebooked for a later date.

Dan Hooker has confirmed the bad news. The athlete relayed that he is again having problems with his hand. He did not specify how long the forced break from competing would last.

Of course, the situation that has arisen makes at least two fighters can smile under their breath and count on a call from the UFC office. We are, of course, talking about two representatives of American Top Team. Both Dustin Poirier and Mateusz Gamrot are not currently contracted to fight.

Dustin Poirier is obviously training, however, he was recently in New York for the Samsung event, and before that scored an alcohol-infused outing at the Superbowl, so it’s clear that he’s not doing as strong a workout as he does during regular camp. The American also stressed that he would like to fight the last fight of his career in New Orleans during the vacations.

The case of Mateusz Gamrot is completely different, the fighter who is ranked eighth in the lightweight division practically does not move from American Top Team and, as he himself emphasized in one of his recent statements, has conveyed his readiness to return and is training hard.

It’s worth noting that Matthew somehow anticipated the possibility that someone from the top might get injured. After all, Gamer said recently.

– Will it be a normal fight or will it be a replacement? I’ll jump in and take it. Especially since several good fights in the lightweight division have been announced recently.
