It was no different for Hangman, who also made sure to promote the juxtaposition in the media. During one of his interviews, Hooker returned to the lost clash with Arman Tsarukyan.
Dan Hooker revealed that Arman Tsarukyan broke his nose
Dan Hooker, in an interview with Ariel Helwani, admitted that Arman Tsarukyan broke his nose during a face-off before the fight.
– I was upset that the f**king pip hit my head and broke my f**king nose at the weigh-in. Of course I wanted to fight back, but I couldn’t, I had to be calm. I had broken my nose many times in the past, so it didn’t bother me physically, but mentally I was angry about the situation. He got me at the weigh-in, surprised me, praise be to him.
Dan Hooker also pointed out that he was allowed to take off despite the damage, while admitting that even if he had not wanted to do so he would not have withdrawn from the duel himself.
It is now clear why Dana White, despite Tsarukyan’s win, was still angry and did not give him a title shot. The head of the UFC organization must have been aware that Arman’s punch at the weigh-in ceremony was not so much dangerous as it had a very negative effect on Hooker’s injury.
