Alex Pereira lost to Magomed Ankalaev and lost his welterweight championship belt. Saturday’s clash was given a deeper look by Daniel Cormier, a former UFC champion who currently works as a commentator at the organization’s galas.
Daniel Cormier co-hosts the Good Guy/Bad Guy program with Chael Sonnen. It was in the most recent episode of this program that the popular DC stated that Pereira should not go any higher.
– What we saw on Saturday in the fight with Ankalaev shows us that Alex is currently fighting fights in the highest weight category for his capabilities. I don’t think he is strong enough to deal with anyone bigger.
Daniel Cormier pointed out that Alex Pereira did not really respond to the pressure from the Dagestan. According to the American, the heavyweight fighter, who beats much harder and bigger in size, would be an impassable obstacle for Poatan.
