Mackenzie Dern and Amanda Ribas were supposed to meet at the UFC Tampa, but their duel was taken off the schedule and moved to the first UFC event in 2025.
The ladies’ rematch clash was scheduled to be part of the fight card of the UFC gala in Tampa, Florida. Ultimately, the UFC organization decided to move the Dern vs Ribas 2 bout to the premiere gala in 2025. The ladies are scheduled to face each other on January 11 at UFC Fight Night 249 in Las Vegas.
In the first fight of 2019, Amanda Ribas was the winner, claiming victory after a unanimous decision by the judges. Both fighters have since shown considerable aspirations but have struggled to prove their worth and establish themselves at the top.
Of course, both Ribas and Mackenzie Dern are ranked in the top ten of the UFC’s strawweight rankings, but it should be noted that the fighters have recorded an identical 3-4 record in their last seven fights. This means that both ladies have alternated wins and losses in recent years.
The loss of the Dern vs Ribas 2 bout should not negatively affect the UFC Tampa gala schedule, which will see fights such as Covington vs Buckley, Swanson vs Quarantillo and Kape vs Silva.
