Diego Lopes wants to win the belt
The Brazilian, of course, has in mind the undefeated Movsar Evloev, to whom he lost in May 2023. The American Top Team fighter is ranked just behind Lopes and will undoubtedly be a top contender if it is Diego who takes the title.
– Tera everything is different. I’m on top and so is my former rival. It may come out that we will meet again and fight for the belt. I am excited about the next step, however, at the moment I am focusing on Volkanovski. On the other hand, if I win the title I will challenge Movsar to a rematch.
Diego Lopes has outlined a clear plan and intends to execute it in Miami. Of course, a win over Volk is needed for that, and then the dream can be fulfilled.
– This is 100% my goal. To win the fight and fight my next fight at UFC 320 in Guadalajara. Defending the belt in Mexico in the city of Guadalajara would be something amazing. I’ve lived and trained there for ten years, so I’ll be vying to defend the belt in that city, in my city.
Lopes’ duel with Volkanovski will mark the UFC organization’s return to Miami. Diego will face Alex as early as April 12 at UFC 314.
