Dominick Cruz former UFC cockfighting champion has announced his last dance in the octagon. The American wants to fight in early 2025 and end his career.
Dominick Cruz has been fighting professionally since January 2005. This means that the 39-year-old American will celebrate the 20th anniversary of his career in the first month of the new year. However, the experienced former UFC cockfighting champion doesn’t intend to drag it out indefinitely. In an interview with TMZ, he announced one last dance and retirement.
– Let me tell you, I think I have the strength in me for the last dance. I want to enter the octagon one last time and enjoy the fight. I want to give it my all and fight until I lose my breath. The real joy of such fights comes months later when you remember them. Whereas now I am ready to feel the difference between life and death. It will be pure pleasure for me.
Dominick Cruz had plans to compete in 2024, however, details could not be finalized during negotiations for the bout. Therefore, Dominator is targeting a farewell fight in early 2025.
– I was planning to fight my last fight this year however, it looks like the negotiations will not go as I would like. There are many great fighters in my category who have looked phenomenal in recent performances. The whole division is packed with talent and it’s really great to be a part of the cock category however, I ultimately want to fight early next year and end my career.
