Dricus Du Plessis and Sean Strickland will fight a rematch bout at UFC 312 in Sydney. The top middleweight fighters will face each other again in a fight for the belt. The American intends to take a stern rematch and wants to fight the African in standup.
During an interview for ESPN, Dricus Du Plessis announced that he intends to change his tactics. The UFC middleweight division champion believes that this time he is able to move aggressively on his opponent from the beginning of the fight.
– The pace in the first fight was very high, but I imposed it only in the later rounds. I know that in this fight I can do it from the first second.
Dricus Du Plessis stressed that during his long career only twice his fights ended in referee decisions, and they were extremely attractive clashes for fans. Stillknocks assures that there will be no boredom this time either, however, he wants to finish Sean Strickland before time.
– I’ve only fought to a decision twice in my entire career and they were amazing fights. I don’t mind a full-distance clash if the fight is good. I have never given a boring fight. I know that this fight I can finish early.
– I don’t see this fight (lasting 25 minutes). I mean, maybe we will see the championship rounds, maybe there will be a fourth and fifth round, but there is no option that this fight will be closed by the final siren.
