Things are boiling over in the UFC middleweight category. Caio Borralho accosted Dricus du Plessis on social media, and the former champion’s response only turned up the temperature around the possible matchup.
The Brazilian is on a winning streak – after a full-distance win over Reinier de Ridder he added his eighth triumph in the octagon and cemented himself at the top of the rankings. The fifth position is not enough for him, so he openly targets the division’s biggest names.
“The Natural” decided to provoke Du Plessis by publishing a video from Johannesburg in which he playfully “sought out” an African. “Stillknocks” had no intention of ignoring it.

The former champion was quick to respond and offered his rival a face-to-face meeting – even before a possible cage fight.
– Drop by the CIT Performance Institute. We can walk around and record it if you want. See you Friday, Nerd,” he wrote.
Borralho did not remain indebted, and suggested that instead of online pushing, it would be better to bring the matter to an official duel.
– Stop with the childish behavior, bro. Sign the contract ,” he replied, making it clear that he was ready for a fight.
However, it did not end there. Du Plessis undermined the meaning of the entire narrative of negotiations.
– What contract? You think we are having discussions about you? – replied “Stillknocks” with irony. – Come by the hall, I have about 30 minutes away by car. We’ll see if you’re a real guy and show up. We start at 9 am.
All indications are that the tension between the fighters is just beginning to build. If the UFC decides to match Borralho against Du Plessis, fans can count on a clash that will make history even before it enters the octagon.
