Dustin Porier has named three suitable rivals for Paddy Pimblett. The American admitted that the ditzy Englishman with the goofy haircut has developed a name as a contender.

Dustin Poirier followed the duel between Michael Chandler and Paddy Pimblett with interest. The UFC veteran, who is preparing for the last fight of his career, spoke out after Iron ‘s clash with Baddy. The American admitted that in the past he considered the Liverpool fighter an artificially hyped kid.

The point of view depends on the point of view. This is also the case here. Poirier, who analyzed Chandler’s fight with Pimblett on the ESPN station, talked about how his view of Paddy’s persona has changed.

– I thought he was a dorky guy with a stupid haircut who people started rooting for because he was funny. You know what I mean, along the lines of: “This is funny, let’s cheer for this silly guy.” But when you come in like a storm, look like a fool, weave whatever saliva comes to your tongue and insult your rivals, and then win fights then you become a star of the sport. That’s exactly what he did. That night he went from being a prospect to a contender. That’s how he is a contender for the belt at the moment.

Dustin Poirier named three rivals for Pimblett

Dustin Poirier named three potential rivals that Paddy Pimblett could face in the near future. Diamond mentioned really strong names and suggested that a lot will depend on who is not contracted to fight. Poirier gave the Englishman a valuable tip in the process.

– Now he is in the top of the division. Who doesn’t have a fight right now? Gaethje? Arman, maybe? Charles Oliveira? These are all cool fights, interesting fights. Now you can’t fight someone who is behind you. You have to continue fighting the best and climb higher until you fight for the belt. I think the UFC will give him one of the fighters I mentioned.

If Paddy were to actually face Justin Gaethje, Arman Tsarukyan or Charles Oliveira then without a doubt the bar would go up again. It seems certain that a win over one of the big three fighters would give Pimblett an immediate pass to a duel for the lightweight division belt.
