FEN president comments on KSW chief’s words about Oktagon MMA organization

The FEN president commented on the words of KSW chief Martin Lewandowski about the Czech-Slovak Oktagon MMA organization.

Martin Lewandowski, in a recent interview, stated that the KSW federation is the Ekstraklasa while the Oktagon MMA organization is the third league. The KSW boss also added that any KSW champion would beat an Oktagon champion.

Jakub Borowicz gave an extensive interview to MMA-BNB where he was asked in which league he would place FEN according to Martin Lewandowski’s classification.

– Probably B-class of some kind.

The FEN president noted that the KSW organization is superior to its Czech-Slovak rival in terms of sportsmanship. However, Jakub Borowicz admitted that he watches Oktagon MMA galas and appreciates how their events look like.

– Sports-wise, KSW is certainly on a higher level. There is nothing to talk about. On the other hand, KSW for a very long time, all these years, has been an organization that looked hard at business. Maciek Kawulski very long ago said: “a fighter is only as good as how many PPVs he sells,” was some of his text. Or how many tickets he sells….

– Then we were talking about business, and now we’re just talking about sports. If we’re talking about business, we’re talking about the Oktagon, which, want, don’t want, like it or not, I sometimes gals watch, well, gee, they do it right. Am I a fan of freak fights? No. Do I watch freak fights? No. But do I appreciate the idea, the business, the investment? I would be blind if I didn’t.

In the end, Jakub Borowicz strongly summarized Martin Lewandowski’s words. The FEN president noted that he has great respect for the fact that the Oktagon MMA organization was able to sell out a football stadium in another country.

– Sportingly KSW is a shelf above. But the players on the market is not small, it does such galas, sells stadiums… If someone sells the National Stadium, and I know how to sell an indoor arena for 6 thousand people, I have an a**hole respect for that. And someone sells a stadium in a country that is not theirs, an even bigger stadium? And you say, “No, you’re lame…”. For me, this is inconceivable.
