Steve Erceg a former UFC belt contender will face Asu Almabayev an undefeated Kazakh talent for eight years.

Steve Erceg and Asu Almabayev will meet in the UFC octagon at a gala to be held on March 1 at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Both fighters are ranked in the top ten of the flyweight category rankings. The former belt contender is currently ranked ninth while the Kazakhstan representative is eighth.

Steve Erceg fought for the belt against Alexandre Pantoja but failed to take the title from the champion. AstroBoy then faced Kai Kara-France and was knocked out in the first round. This caused the Australian’s ranking to take a definite turn for the worse.

Asu Almabayev boasts a phenomenal series of seventeen wins in a row. The 30-year-old fighter, who trains in the city of Almaty, has won championship belts from such organizations as M-1 Challenge and Naiza FC. Zulfikar came to the UFC in August 2023 and managed to record four wins in a short period of time.

The Erceg vs Almabayev clash will be part of the main card however it will not be the fight of the evening. This means that the duel has been contracted for three rounds in the limit of the division up to 57 kilograms.
