Justin Gaethje got a new opponent at UFC 313, the UFC organization’s announcement was responded to by Mateusz Gamrot, who briefly commented on the matter.
Justin Gaethje, as expected, will remain on the fight card of the UFC 313 gala. The American, who is ranked third in the UFC lightweight rankings, will fight a rematch bout in Las Vegas. Justin Gaethje will face Rafael Fiziev for the second time, who was one of several fighters ready to take up the gauntlet with Highlight.
The fighters met for the first time in March 2023 at UFC 286 in London, where Gaethje prevailed after a majority decision by the judges. It was a hard-fought stand-up bout and both UFC activists and fans expect the same from the rematch bout.
Mateusz Gamrot reacted to the announcement of Gaethje’s rival at UFC 313. The Pole is not happy with this development.
– Stylistically an easier choice. Strikers have always feared wrestlers. I’m in great shape and ready for anyone.
Justin Gaethje has stated that several supposedly willing fighters did not want to fight him at all. The American presented a combined list of top ranked fighters who did not accept the offer to fight at UFC 313.
– Arman Tsarukyan and Charles Oliveira said no. Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier said no. Moicano got the call and ultimately said no as well. Therefore, respect to Rafael Fiziev for taking up the gauntlet and flying in from the other side of the world especially for this fight. For me it’s a big risk because this guy is an elite striker.
