Grant Dawson openly calls for the expulsion of Michael Chandler from the UFC rankings, the talented American Top Team representative suggested comparing the results.
Grant Dawson will return to competition at the UFC 311 gala in Los Angeles. The talented American will face Diego Ferreira, who both Mateusz Gamrot and Mateusz Rębecki have fought in the past. Dawson has recorded a perfect record in the UFC so far.
The American Top Team fighter has ten wins, one draw and only one loss. The popular KGD, in an interview with Inside FIghting, indicated that he doesn’t like the fact that several fighters with poor results are in the rankings.
Grant Dawson is openly calling for the expulsion of Michael Chandler from the UFC lightweight rankings. Here’s what Mateusz Gamrot’s sparring partner said in an interview.
– Certainly there are fighters who should not be in the TOP 10, or even in the TOP 15. If we look at such a Michael Chandler, he has a balance of 2-4 in the UFC. Compare his results in the UFC with mine. Assuming I win against Diego Ferreira, it would be 11-1 to 2-4. And what, a guy with 11-1 out of the rankings, and a guy with 2-4 in the Top 10, or even higher in the Top 7? That doesn’t make sense.
Chandler’s presence is not all that Dawson did not like. The American stressed that there are also ranked contenders who reject fights with younger fighters. Unsurprisingly, Dawson also clung to Beneil Dariush, whom he also wants to remove from the ranking.
– There are some guys out there who don’t want to fight younger rivals just coming to the top. They should remove Michael Chandler from there, they should remove… If Beneil Dariush loses, he said that he will probably end his career, so as soon as the fight with Renato Moicano is over and Beneil loses then there is nothing to wait for. He simply has to be removed from the ranking. When you say you’re finishing, if you say anything other than ‘I want to be a world champion’ then you should fly out of the rankings.
