Piotr Więcławski, also known as “GRUBY,” introduced himself to the fans ahead of his debut at the GROMDA 26 event.
– My cousins have already fought at GROMDA, so now it’s my turn, and my punch will be “Gruby’s” trademark – says 32-year-old Piotr Więcławski, who will make his debut for our organization on September 4 at the GROMDA 26: POLISH COLOSSEUM event.

Editor: Under what circumstances did your transfer to GROMDY take place?
Piotr “GRUBY” Więcławski: I’ve been coming to GROMDĘ before, to support my cousin Kamil “ARNI” Heberlein. At the last event, he knocked out England’s “Dynamite”—Bradley Donovan—in the first round. That’s when I had talks with President Mariusz Grabowski, and… we agreed on the terms of our partnership. So here I am, waiting for my debut—a spectacular debut!
What other impressions do you have as a fan?
It’s the perfect place for bare-knuckle fights, and if you’re rooting for someone close to you, the excitement reaches its peak. Although there’s also a roller coaster of emotions. In situations like this, when your cousin is fighting, you’d love to jump into that little ring yourself. You feel more stressed standing outside the ropes than inside them.
Your last name has appeared on GROMDZIE before; I’m referring to Daniel “HUNTER” Więcławski.
Daniel and I are cousins. As you can see, blood ties connect the three of us who are involved with GROMDA.
Where do you usually train?
At Fight Club Zenith Toruń, my boxing coach is Adrian Ochnicki, and I also work with ground game specialists Mariusz Wilczyński and Tymek Pledziewicz.
You’ve had fights that involved plenty of ground work, such as your two bouts with Denis Labryga.
Labryga really stood out in those fights against me. After the first one, I felt like I hadn’t had enough excitement, so we had a rematch. I think the fans enjoyed it. Denis stayed in the freak fights, and I went my own way.
And here you are in the world of GROMDZIARZY, where the rules are clear—only stand-up fighting, but until one of you goes down.
That works for me. Although it would be ideal if we fought and the finishing move took place on the ground. But, okay, I know the GROMDY rules—we fight to the end, and there are no points. There can only be one winner.
Do we already know if Piotr “GRUBY” Więcławski will make his debut in the Tournament, Extra Fight, or the Team Competition?
Let’s wait a little longer; everything will be revealed the day before the gala. It makes no difference to me whether my opponent is a Pole—except for my cousins, of course—or some foreign fighter.
What can the fans expect from you?
I’m a fighter who puts on exciting bouts. As soon as the curtain drops and the heads roll, it’s going to be a wild ride.
How many kilograms will you bring into the ring?
I weigh 104 kg, and that’s my ideal weight. I don’t need to weigh any less or any more than that. At 186 cm tall, I’m fast and simply effective.
What were your plans when you joined GROMDY?
My goals are clearly defined—I want to beat every opponent I face and win the championship belt…

As far as I’m concerned, Don Diego and Bartek BALBOA Domalik are currently the biggest stars in this federation.
You represent the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region, so is anyone else joining the “top three”?
Sure, we’re strong as a province. I’d pick “Arnie” as the third. I also train with Daniel “PIASEK” Piaskowski. My brother Michał used to fight for a different organization.
What will be “Gruby’s” trademark?
Definitely a punch like a missile. A knockout punch is about to land.
Where did that sports nickname come from?
Yeah, just the sports nickname—everyday, they call me “Więcek.” As for “Gruby”—I used to have a belly, but now I have a six-pack. But the nickname stuck, I like it, and I’m not changing it.
