Emotions were running high during the press conference ahead of GROMDA 26! From the very beginning, “Heavy Heart” tried to rattle Mateusz “Don Diego” Kubiszyn, but his provocations didn’t have the desired effect. In the end, it was the Cameroonian who lost his temper. The challenger lunged at the champion, and security had to step in to restore order.
GROMDA 26: POLISH COLOSSEUM takes place this Friday, and the event will culminate in the highly anticipated bout between “Don Diego” and “Heavy Heart.” Mateusz Kubiszyn remains undefeated since the start of his bare-knuckle fighting career and will once again put his championship belt on the line. The Cameroonian, who lives in Germany, largely earned his shot at the title through his high-profile trash talk, which went viral online. Gbeyi, however, has backed up his words with results—along the way, he has defeated “Chacia” and “Scarface,” among others.
“Don Diego” taunted him, but the champion just laughed. “Heavy Heart” moved toward him
Fans got a sneak peek at what might happen on Friday night during the press conference ahead of GROMDA 26. Last night, footage from the event was posted on the organization’s channel, and, of course, the participants in the championship main event were among the main stars.
“Heavy Heart” had no intention of letting the opportunity for more taunts slip by. The challenger tried time and again to provoke Kubiszyn and see if he could finally rattle the remarkably calm champion.
“Don Diego” joined the discussion. He also replied to Gbey in English, and although his English wasn’t perfect, the Cameroonian had no trouble understanding what he was saying.
The challenger, however, opted for a completely different kind of verbal confrontation. At times, his remarks were more reminiscent of freak fight press conferences than a preview of a bare-knuckle bout. There was no shortage of references to male-male love and vulgar insinuations about what “Heavy Heart” wouldn’t do to Kubiszyn with his genitals.
However, the master did not give him the reaction he had clearly been hoping for.
Kubiszyn had heard plenty of similar provocations throughout his career. Instead of getting drawn into an increasingly heated argument, he laughed off his opponent’s remarks. At one point, it seemed as though the attempt to rattle the champion was having exactly the opposite effect.
Finally, “Heavy Heart” got off the ground.
The Cameroonian approached “Don Diego” and tried to pull the champion’s glasses off his nose. Security immediately stepped in between the fighters and prevented the situation from escalating further.
So it was a close call—the very situation Kubiszyn had previously warned his opponent about. The champion had made it clear that if “Heavy Heart” decided to challenge his dominance, he could be knocked out even before their official bout.
The conference ended with security stepping in. By Friday, the situation will be completely different. Then “Heavy Heart” will be able to try, without any obstacles, to do what he’s been promising for a long time—to take the belt from the undefeated “Don Diego.”
