Josh Hokit has once again cast doubt on Tom Aspinall’s health issues. “The Incredible Hok” suggested that the former UFC champion might be exaggerating his eye injury, and even stated that, in his opinion, the British fighter is trying to use this as a way to get out of his contract with the organization.

Tom Aspinall recently vacated his heavyweight championship belt following yet another injury to his right eye. The British fighter had been preparing for a rematch with Ciryl Gane, but he suffered another setback during a sparring session, and his return has been postponed.

We’ll have to wait until 2027 for new information regarding the former champion’s health. In the meantime, Hokit will be the one competing for the title when he faces Gane on November 14 at UFC 334 in New York.

Hokit doesn’t believe Aspinall. “I don’t think that’s true.”

The American appeared on *The Ariel Helwani Show*, where he commented very harshly on Aspinall’s situation. Hokit did not provide any evidence to support his claims, but he openly stated that he did not believe the official account of events.

“Honestly? I don’t even think that crap is true, ” said Hokit. “I think his teammates are farting on his pillow or something like that. Then he goes to sleep, gets conjunctivitis, posts it on Instagram, and says, ‘Hey everyone, feel sorry for me. I still can’t fight.’” A fake surgery and all that other crap. I think he’s just looking for a way out of his contract.

Helwani asked Hokita if he really thought Aspinall might not be telling the truth about his health.

“The Incredible Hok” did not back down from his words. He even went a step further and suggested that the whole situation might have financial motives.

“Yeah, that’s what I think,” said Hokit. “Maybe the UFC doesn’t want to pay him as much as he’s asking for, but his numbers speak for themselves. Ultimately, no one really cares about watching his fights. Not like with the bigger names, who can demand that kind of money.”

Hokit will soon face the biggest challenge of his career. He earned his shot at the championship through, among other things, his bout against Curtis Blaydes and his second-round TKO victory over Derrick Lewis.

The American remains undefeated with a 10-0 record, including six knockouts and three submissions. Now he’ll look to capitalize on Aspinall’s absence and win a full-fledged title belt in his bout against Gane.
