Islam Makhachev has agreed to the terms of his fight with Arman Tsarukyan, however, he has not yet received a contract for the rematch at UFC 311.
It has been rumored for many weeks that Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan will face each other on January 18 in the fight of the evening at UFC 311 in Los Angeles. This will be a rematch bout, in which the fighters will compete for the UFC lightweight championship belt.
Ushatayk ‘s program reported that Islam Makhachev had verbally agreed to fight Arman, but had not yet received a concrete contract offer and had not signed the contract.
The Dagestan’s management assures that the fighter is nevertheless preparing to enter the octagon early in the new year. However, if the situation continues then the fight for the championship belt of the up to 70 kilograms division may be postponed.
This would be bad news for fans, who last had the opportunity to watch Makhachev in action in June this year, when he defended his belt in a clash with Dustin Poirier. Originally, Islam’s return was planned for October’s UFC 308 gala, but due to a wrist injury, the champion had to drop out of the Abu Dhabi event.
