Islam Makhachev reacted to Alex Volkanovsky’s victory in the UFC 314 fight of the evening. The Dagestan congratulated the Australian on his return to the throne.
Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski have faced each other twice in the octagon of the UFC organization. There was never any bad blood between the fighters, and after the fights they willingly talked with each other exchanging valuable comments and conclusions.
It should come as no surprise, then, that Islam Makhachev reacted to Alex Volkanovsky’s excellent performance and victory in the evening fight of the UFC 314 gala. The Australian defeated Diego Lopes on points and thus became the featherweight division champion again.
Islam Makhachev posted a short entry in which he tagged a player from Windang.
– Congratulations Alex, great comeback. A true champion in sports and in life.
Volkanovski, 36, became featherweight champion for the second time in the world’s top MMA organization. Makhachev, 33, was scheduled to defend the belt against Arman Tsarukyan earlier this year, but eventually faced Renato Moicano, whom he quickly submitted. According to the latest reports, the lightweight champion will return to competition in the summer at UFC 317 or UFC 318.
