Jack Della Maddalena vs Islam Makhachev at UFC 322 in New York

Jack Della Maddalena and Islam Makhachev will face each other on Saturday, November 15 in the evening fight of UFC 322 in New York.

Jack Della Maddalena and Islam Makhachev will meet in the main event of UFC 322, to be held at the legendary Madison Square Garden. The UFC welterweight championship belt will be at stake in the fight, contracted for five rounds.

For the Dagestanian, who has been lightweight champion for many years, this will be his premiere appearance in the higher division. Islam fought just once this year, when he defended the aforementioned lightweight title in a clash with Renato Moicano in January.

Jack Della Maddalena reached for the championship trophy in May. The Australian defeated Belal Muhammad at UFC 315 and took the belt from him. This means that Islam Makhachev will enter the octagon not as a champion of a lower division, but simply as one of the UFC stars trying his hand at a higher category. Nevertheless, it is Khabib’s sparring partner who will be the favorite to fight Jack Della Maddalena.

Islam Makhachev has victories over such fighters as Arman Tsarukyan, Dan Hooker, Charles Oliveira, Alexander Volkanovski and Dustin Poirier on his record. The popular JDM can not boast, as valuable scalps in the record. After all, the most famous fighters he defeated Della Maddalena are Gilbert Burns and Kevin Holland, as well as the aforementioned Belal Muhammad.
