Jakub Wikłacz talked about what stage contract talks with the UFC are at, the former KSW champion very much wants to move overseas.
Jakub Wikłacz has ended his long adventure with the KSW federation. The champion of the bantamweight category made the decision to prematurely terminate his contract and sit down for contract talks with the UFC. The Red Dragon fighter never hid that this was his career goal.
Michal Tuszynski met with Jakub Wiklacz to ask him about the status of talks with the world’s top MMA league. Kuba gave an interview to a FanSport reporter just before flying to the US. During the conversation, Wikłacz admitted that the talks will be led by Joanna Jedrzejczyk, but they have not yet begun.
– Shrinks well for now it is at this stage that the talks will only be led. I’m waiting for Asia to come back and calmly lead the talks there. At this point I don’t know anything, I saw that a lot of people (said), and it’s already there, it’s already there.
Jakub Wikłacz indicated on what date he expects to hear about what the world’s top MMA league is offering and whether a contract will actually be signed.
– It’s known that it’s not like someone has a current contract (with another organization) and is already in talks with the UFC. First, it was necessary to come to an agreement, break (end) the contract with KSW, so that it would be done fairly, and only lead the talks somewhere. Such talks will only be held. Also for now nothing is known, I inform everyone, and I think that by the end of January everything will be known. In fact, during this stay in the States I should know something more. I took a risk, but I guess that’s the point I want to chase ambitions.
Asked about a statement by Artur Gwozdz, who suggested that there was an idea for Jakub Wikłacz to perform at the London gala, the former KSW champion replied.
– There is nothing to get set for now. You have to sign this contract there is nothing to talk about some deadlines there. That’s why I cut it off first it has to be done and we’ll see what how and when, let’s think about the contract first.
