Jakub Wikłacz has left the KSW federation, the former champion of the bantamweight category explained why he made such a decision and revealed what organization he wants to go to.
Jakub Wikłacz was the KSW champion in the bantamweight category for many years. The Red Dragon fighter made the decision to part ways with the federation prematurely. Wikłacz had one more fight in his contract, but nevertheless made the decision to end his adventure in KSW.
Kuba was a guest of Artur Mazur in the online edition of the magazine Klatka po klatce. During the very long conversation, Wikłacz talked extensively about the backstage of his parting with KSW. Asked if he was already a fighter for the UFC organization, Wikłacz replied.
– No no absolutely not yet. We are still at the stage of announcing everything. First we are focused on getting all the formal matters with KSW done by the end, and then I will only think about other organizations. There are a lot of moves to be made after this long adventure ends, and I’m focusing on my work somewhere. I will be getting help from various people and we will try to get into the UFC. Well, but I say first we focus on one, then we will talk about the other. I hope that next year everything will work out as I plan for myself.
Jakub Wikłacz also revealed some of the expectations he had for KSW when negotiating his new contract. Poland’s top cockfighter admitted that he was keen on anti-doping tests, as well as a proper expansion of the up to 62 kilograms division with other strong fighters.
– I don’t want to go into details very much because the process is still ongoing, but it was in a very peaceful mood. Somewhere in there I had these expectations of mine and I presented these expectations, the doping tests, the selection of rivals, and I think it would be very difficult to meet them. It’s not just about finances, there were a lot of other points there that I would like them to be met. After lengthy discussions, we decided to propose such an exit, which would end my fight contract earlier. Both sides came to the conclusion that this is not so stupid at all, and we are able to do it in a peaceful way. I’m really happy to have such a very good contact with KSW and get along normally, I’m incredibly happy that it went so smoothly.
